The sound of a singing bowl is always determined by the mallet, the surface and the type of singing bowl itself. People have different sound preferences. Whereas someone might prefer a high and clear tone, another person might be touched by low and earthly sounds.
Not everyone values the hard sound that is produced by striking a singing bowl with a wooden stick. Most people prefer the softer and warmer sound that is made by using a mallet. We offer several types and sizes of mallets. What size of mallet do you use for which bowl? A general rule is: the heavier the bowl, the heavier the mallet.
Your hand is a possible surface when striking a singing bowl. But what happens when you put the bowl on a wooden table? The table starts to resonate and a low and restless sound is generated. To prevent this from happening, place your singing bowl on a cushion or ring.
